The Registrar of the College of Midwives of British Columbia (CMBC) has declared an emergency situation related to the COVID-19 pandemic effective March 16, 2020.  This declaration allows qualified applicants to be registered in the “temporary (emergency)” class.  Temporary (emergency) registrants are registered solely for the purpose of providing assistance during the COVID-19 emergency situation.

The Midwives Protection Program (MPP) covers the professional practice liability concerns of registered midwives who are members of Midwives Association of BC (MABC) and who are in good standing with the CMBC, including those registered as temporary (emergency) registrants.  If you require evidence of coverage please contact the MABC at 604-736-5976 to request a certificate of insurance.
